VELLÓ – Aftercare Guide 

How to maintain the quality and longevity of your VELLÓ hair

As a premium human-hair manufacturer, correct aftercare is essential to preserve the condition, softness and lifespan of your VELLÓ extensions. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in dryness, matting, colour change or reduced lifespan and will void warranty.

1. Washing & Products

Use only approved products:

    •    Sulphate-free, sodium-chloride–free shampoo

    •    Lightweight, silicone-free conditioner

    •    Hydrating but non-oily masks (used sparingly, mid-lengths to ends only)

Avoid the following completely:

    •    Sulphates

    •    Silicones

    •    Purple / blue shampoo

    •    Oils, serums, butters or heavy styling creams

    •    Clarifying shampoos

    •    Protein-heavy products (may cause brittleness)

VELLÓ cannot accept complaints where these products have been used.

2. Drying & Brushing

    •    Always brush gently using an extension-safe brush.

    •    Brush several times a day to prevent tangling.

    •    Never brush when the hair is dripping wet — gently detangle when damp.

    •    Always rough-dry the roots and bonds/weft before styling.

    •    Avoid going to bed with wet hair.

3. Heat Use

    •    Maximum heat: 180°C

    •    Always use a heat protectant spray

    •    Avoid frequent straightening, curling or blow-drying

    •    Overuse of heat or temperatures above 180°C will cause dryness and colour fade and is not classed as a manufacturing fault.

4. Colouring, Toning & Chemical Services

    •    Do not colour, tone, bleach or chemically alter VELLÓ hair.

    •    Any colouring or toning immediately voids warranty and cannot be assessed as a manufacturing issue.

    •    Purple shampoo is strictly not permitted.

5. Daily Care

    •    Tie hair loosely when sleeping (low pony or braid)

    •    Use a silk pillowcase or silk bonnet

    •    Avoid heavy sweating without washing afterwards

    •    Keep hair away from direct sunbeds and prolonged UV exposure

6. Swimming, Holidays & Travel

    •    Avoid chlorine and seawater where possible

    •    If exposed, saturate hair with clean water first and use a leave-in conditioner

    •    Wash immediately after swimming

    •    UV exposure may cause natural lightening — this is not a fault

7. Storage of Unused Hair

    •    Store in a cool, dry place in the original VELLÓ packaging

    •    Keep tied and sealed to avoid tangling or contamination

    •    Hair removed from packaging or altered cannot be returned

• All human hair behaves uniquely depending on lifestyle, heat, products and environment.

• Incorrect aftercare, product misuse or environmental damage (UV, chlorine, heat) are not classed as faults.
